Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona estate is located on the South East hillside of Montalcino, close to the medieval village of Castelnuovo dell’Abate and to the famous Abbey of Sant’Antimo. The entire estate, extending over 195 hectares of which 50 are in vines and less than 30 in olive groves, sets between Arna hill and the Orcia River, with a soil textured of medium grain with good levels of marl and shale. Spurred cordon vineyards facing South, in the heart of the Val d’Orcia Park, UNESCO World Heritage site, offer a unique panorama with the beautiful contour of Mount Amiata in the background. Brunello di Montalcino DOCG Riserva “Vigna di Pianrosso” Santa Caterina d’Oro is coming from a careful selection of grapes of the single vineyard, the eldest and the most representative. In 1985, after the end of the Ciacci Piccolomini d’Aragona family, Giuseppe Bianchini establishes the winery, managed today by his sons and nephews.
